They are commonly referred to as ‘tap’ tickets because you will need to tap your device on the ticket reader to scan in! ### NFC When referencing wallet or ‘tap’ tickets, you may hear the term ‘NFC”  NFC (near-field communication) is the technology that allows two devices — like your phone and a payment/ticket terminal — to talk to each other when they're close together. NFC is the technology that enables data transfer between nearby phones and a ticket or payment reader!  How to scan in #### Apple:  How to use a ticket or other pass on your iPhone 1. Open your Apple Wallet Application 2. Select the pass you wish to scan 3. If prompted, authenticate with Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode. 4. If needed, tap your default payment card to see your other cards. Then tap your boarding pass, ticket, or other pass, and authenticate. 5. Scan or tap your iPhone at the contactless reader or present it to the attendant. (Some phone cases may interfere with scanning and may need to be removed.) #### Android:  To use your ticket or other pass on your Android device: 1. Open the Google Wallet app on your phone 2. Select the pass you wish to scan 3. Hold the back of your phone close to the ticket reader for a few seconds. (Some phone cases may interfere with scanning and may need to be removed.) 4. A blue checkmark appears when your ticket is accepted. 5. If you can’t tap your phone at the ticket reader, Open the Google Wallet app. 6. Scroll up to find your ticket. 7. Tickets for upcoming events may show in the “Important” section of Wallet. 8. Tap the ticket. 9. Show the barcode or QR code on your phone so the attendant can scan it. There are a few reasons why tickets are sent through links instead of a direct transfer: 1. Convenience: Ticket links can be easily shared and accessed through various communication channels. You can receive the link via email, text message, or social media platforms, allowing you to access your tickets from anywhere with an internet connection. 2. Flexibility: Ticket links enable easy transferability. If you cannot attend the event, you can easily forward the ticket link to someone else who can use it. This makes it more convenient for both the ticket holder and potential recipients. 3. Security: Ticket links often include unique identifiers or barcodes that are scanned at the event entrance for validation. This adds an additional layer of security, reducing the risk of counterfeit or fraudulent tickets. Sharing/Removing tickets in Wallet #### Sharing Apple:  You can share some passes and tickets in the Wallet app with other iPhone or Apple Watch users. 1. On your iPhone, open the Wallet app. 2. Tap the pass or ticket that you want to share. 3. On your iPhone, open the Wallet app. 2. Tap the pass that you want to remove. 3. Tap the More button, then tap Pass Details. 4. Tap Remove Pass, then confirm. Sharing Android:  Pass sharing on Google Wallet is not possible. You must first ‘remove’ the pass and then add it to the wallet they wish to share it with. Remove Android: 5. Remove items from Google Wallet 6. Open the Google Wallet app. 7. Find the card or pass that you want to remove. For cards, you may need to swipe left to find it. For passes, you may need to swipe up to find it. 8. Tap the card or pass. 9. In the top-right, tap More. For a card, tap Remove payment method. It is available for the Android, Wear OS, and Fitbit OS operating systems. It began rolling out on Android smartphones on July 18 while co-existing with the 2020 Google Pay app.
